Any student interested in participating in College Credit Plus during the 2017-2018 school year will need to attend the Madison High School's Informational meeting December 5th at 7pm in the High School Cafeteria. This meeting will last approximately an hour and representatives from Ashland University, North Central State College, and Ohio State University will be there to discuss their programs. Questions can be directed to the High School Counseling Office at 419-589-2112.
Welcome to the Madison High School Website. As we return to school from Winter Break, I would like to take a moment to make you aware of the upcoming spring state testing schedule. All students must meet one of two state testing graduation requirements depending on the number of years in which he/she has attended high school. The graduation requirement for those students who are in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of high school (generally 9th, 10th, and 11th graders) includes the online End of Course Exams (EOCs). The requirement for those students who are in their 4th or more year of high school (generally seniors) includes the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). For more detailed information on the graduation requirements, please see the following page on the Ohio Department of Education website.
For those students who still need to pass one or more parts of the OGT, those tests will be given during the week of March 13-17 with makeups taking place the following week, March 20-24.
The EOCs will be administered during the weeks of March 27-31 (English 9 and 10) and April 24-28 (Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology, Social Studies 2, and Social Studies 3). EOC testing will take place from 8-11 AM. This year there will be no changes in student arrival times during testing weeks. This is a change from last year. All students will be expected to be in attendance by 8:05, regardless of whether they are testing or not.
We look forward to working with our students to prepare them for success on the State Standardized Tests. Our teachers are working diligently to prepare them for these tests, but just as importantly for their futures as they prepare to enter college, the workforce, or the military upon graduation. Parents, we request your assistance by communicating the importance of these tests with your child and reinforcing the importance of a good night’s rest, breakfast, and full attendance during the testing periods. Please join us in taking great pride in the success of all Madison students!
