American Indian Education Fund
The Undergraduate Scholarship service* supports educational opportunities for American Indian and Alaska Native students by awarding more than 200 scholarships annually. Applications submitted by eligible Native American students each spring are reviewed by members of the Scholarship Committee, who award the competitive grants. Up to $2,000 per year is paid directly to each recipient’s college or university.

The Amish Descendants Scholarship Fund

The Amish Descendant Scholarship Fund (ADSF) was founded by a small group of former Amish with big dreams — to help other former Amish realize their dreams of earning a college education. Because the Amish only study to the eighth grade, it is challenging for those who leave the community to pursue a higher education. Bridging the Dream Scholarships

The Bridging the Dream Scholarships are available to minority students and those from marginalized or underserved communities, including Black, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, low-income, first generation, and students from rural communities, among others. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents and Pell Grant-eligible.

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund

The Sallie Mae Fund will award (260) gap scholarships worth up to $2,500 to minority students and those from underserved communities who are on track to graduate but are at-risk of not completing due to financial emergency or unpaid school bill. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship- Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. Applications are available each year March through June.

Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund

Low-income women 35 and older who are working on a technical or vocational education, an associate’s degree or their first degree are invited to apply for this scholarship fund.

Applicants must submit two recommendation letters, transcripts and proof of community involvement. Last year, 60 women received scholarships.

John H. Chafee Foster Care Independence Program and the Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program

The John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood (the Chafee program) provides funding to support youth/ young adults in or formerly in foster care in their transition to adulthood. Eligibility for the program, as outlined in federal law, includes:
- Youth in foster care, ages 14 and older
- Young people in or formerly in foster care, ages 18 to 21, or 23 in some jurisdiction
- Youth who left foster care through adoption or guardianship at age 16 or older.
The Chafee program has an additional appropriation of approximately $43 million annually for the Educational and Training Vouchers (ETV) Program. The ETV program provides financial resources to meet the post-secondary education and training needs of young adults who have experienced foster care after age 14. The program provides formula grants to States and participating Tribes to help young people pay for post-secondary educational and training. Under federal program requirements, agencies may award a voucher of up to $5,000 per year per young person to cover the unmet needs of the student’s cost of attendance at a post-secondary institution. The program can provide assistance to young people up to age 26, but an individual may receive a voucher for no more than a total of 5 years

AMVETS National Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for veterans, active military, children or grandchildren of veterans, military spouses, and high school senior JROTC members.

This is a set of scholarships with winners chosen based on both need and merit. Though the JROTC scholarship is only open to those pursuing bachelor's degrees, the ones for other eligible groups are generally open to those pursuing trade certifications from accredited programs.

Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship

This scholarship is for MOPH member Purple Heart recipients, spouses, or children/grandchildren.

If you're a Purple Heart recipient, married to one, or the child or grandchild of one, you may apply for the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Scholarship to cover a full-time education at an accredited program.

Ohio National Guard Scholarship Program- MACC has been recently approved to participate!

The Ohio National Guard Scholarship Program (ONGSP) is available to current members of the Ohio Army & Air National Guard, as well as former members with qualifying deployment time (Latta Amendment students). The scholarship covers 100% of tuition charges for courses applicable to, or leading to, an associate or bachelor’s degree, a diploma-granting nursing program, as well as approved trade certification, credential-certifying, or licensing programs at participating public colleges and universities.

VA Veteran’s Training Benefits

Veterans may use VA benefits (Montgomery GI Bill, etc.), if approved, to attend programs at Madison Adult Career Center. Student will need to provide MACC a copy of their DD214 and the approval of benefits.

These scholarships are for female marines and their siblings, spouses, and direct descendants or those who were involved in the Marine Corps JROTC program.

This set of scholarships is for active duty or veteran women in the Marines and their spouses, siblings, or direct descendants. The number of available awards and their amounts vary based on by the number of applicants.

Ashland County Community Foundation

Ashland County Community Foundation offers scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors, continuing college students and non-traditional students. Scholarships have varying eligibility and selection criteria. No two scholarships are the same. Most, but not all, ACCF scholarships are for Ashland County students and residents only. You can apply for scholarships between January 1 and March 15 each year.

The CF4CC currently holds 38 different scholarship funds, all awarding in 2022, and accepts applications for the Bucyrus Rotary Club Memorial Scholarship and STRIVE Scholarship. Most but not all of our scholarships are for students who have graduated from or are graduating seniors of one of the Crawford County, Ohio schools. Interested applicants should review the scholarship requirements for each of the scholarships .

NOTE: The application deadline for every scholarship (except the Pry Scholarship, the Samuel Neff Fellowship for International Study, and the Come Home Scholarship) is MARCH 1 at 5PM.

Commitment to education goes beyond college scholarships! Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees also awards scholarships to individuals who want to obtain certifications and credentials at accredited technical institutions. A scholarship program to students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree that would benefit the field of aging. Applicant must have graduated from a High School located in one of the following Counties: Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca or Wyandot. Must be enrolled in one of the following courses of study: Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics or Gerontology.

Graybar Construction Trade Scholarship

The Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship will be awarded to students who will enroll full time as undergraduate students in an accredited nonprofit two-year college or technical school program in the construction trades (carpentry, construction management, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, sheet metal, welding, telcom, etc.) .Up to 50 students will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship that is renewable for one additional year.
